The first electric tram line in the Russian Empire was open on 14 June 1892 and shut down on 11 April 1977. It connected the neighborhood of Podol with Kreschatik, later on with Pechersk. In the last period of its existence, route 16 ran there.
The Klov line was closed on 30 September 1998 due to fears of running trams along its steep stretch on Staronavodnitskaya St., following the crash of 1996 in Dneprodzerzhinsk. In the last years, route 27 served it, before that -- routes 35, 30, 3.
The line from Starovokzalnaya St. was shut down in June 2001, together with routes 5, 6, and 10 (route 1 was shortened). The piece from Starovokzalnaya to Vladimirskaya survives for now as a service track, connecting to a depot.
