1541 | | Looking at this picture, it is hard to
tell that this is all but downtown Kiev; true, it is almost
forty years old... The place is Korolenkovskaya,
near the former Shevchenko tram depot.
The tram is bound for Goloseevskaya Ploschad. [Hans Oerlemans, 1970] |
|
1543 | | A winter setting at the corner of
Saksaganskogo and Vladimirskaya. The tram on route 9 is turning
into a rather steep descent, which was the reason that all passenger
tram traffic stopped here in 1997.
In the background, on the left, is the Kooperator hotel. [Michael Taplin, 01.1976] |
|
1544 | | Another picture next to the former Shevchenko depot,
at the corner of Korolenkovskaya and Dimitrova.
A KTV-55-2 double-ended car is visible behind the fence. [Aare Olander, 10.06.1981] |
|
1545 | | The tram is approaching Moskovskaya Ploschad,
having departed from the Goloseevskaya Ploschad terminus.
As part of the "tidying-up" in preparation for the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow,
this piece of the line would be eliminated, the route being cut back
to Moskovskaya Ploschad. [Anatoly Vilkovich, 1979] |
|
1546 | | Brest-Litovsky Prospekt between
Vozduhoflotsky Most and Polytehnichesky Institut, near the
Voentorg department store.
Once again, note how narrow this present-day expressway used to be
and how much space was reserved for the tram line. [Anatoly Vilkovich, 1978] |
|
1550 | | A unique picture (alas, of much less than
the best quality) of a tram on route 30, entering the
Pechersky Most loop. The latter was replaced with a stub track
back in 1967.
In the background is the territory of the Suvorov military school. [Kiev Electric Transportation Museum, 1960's] |
|
1551 | | A string of trams laying over on a service track
by the fence of the Lukyanovka depot. One still sees quite a few
MTVs in service, although their epoch is rolling to an end... [Aare Olander, 11.06.1981] |
|
1555 | | A tram in a special anniversary livery
at the Goloseevskaya Ploschad loop. Around the year 1967,
the 75th anniversary, apparently all tram rolling stock in Kiev
was repainted. [Kiev Electric Transportation Museum, 1967] |
|
1558 | | A private right-of-way behind the present-day
Kievskaya Rus cinema theatre, between Lukyanovskaya Ploschad
and Ulitsa Kosiora (Chornovola). This view has changed rather little
as of today. [Michael Taplin, 11.09.1978] |
